Each year, tens of thousands of people take to the streets of London to run 26.2 miles; whether it’s for charity or to achieve a personal goal. Leading up to the race, it takes months of dedication, hours of grueling training and a hefty amount of blood, sweat and tears as everybody who takes part looks to complete the race and receive that all important medal at the finish line.
This year, our very own Dominic Bruneau (Managing Director) will be changing out of his suit and into his running gear for the sixth time. The sole reason Dominic participates is for charity, raising £18,000 over the years for incredible organisations such as Asthma UK, The British Heart Foundation and CRY. When away from the office, Dominic’s spare time is usually filled with tennis, walking the dog and weekends away to the New Forest with his family, whereas now leading up to the race he is running 10-20 miles, 4-5 times a week!
April will mark his fourth race in aid of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), a charity that works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death. Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. By donating to CRY there are many ways your donation will be used ranging from promoting and developing heart screenings, to support for those with life-threatening cardiac conditions and those who have lost somebody to YSCD.
Due to personal circumstances, CRY is an organisation that means a lot to Dominic. His goal is to raise £2,500 and, in a bid, to reach this has asked for all guests attending his wedding in June to donate to this incredible cause as opposed to giving gifts.
Dominic said “CRY is a fantastic charity that provides screening for young people to detect heart defects; having a father that has had a heart transplant and losing a friend at the age of 27 whilst playing football, it means everything to me to raise money and awareness for CRY”
